Peyton Eve: Ten Months

Lord, help me. My baby is 10 months old. In two short (like don't even try to blink) months, Peyton will be ONE. A whole year old. But I'm getting ahead of myself. Let's talk about the sweetest ten month old you've ever seen.

According to our handy dandy bathroom scale, Peyton now weighs 17 lbs. 12 oz. She wears mostly nine month clothes (or 6-12 months in baby Gap and Old Navy) and size 3 diapers.

Peyton at TEN months:

Weight: 17 lbs. 12 oz.
Birth: 6 lbs. 10 oz.

Peyton Loves:
Eating
Playing in the pool
Going for walks
Generally being outside
Crab walking everywhere
Her playroom

Peyton Hates:
Teething and on that note, infant tylenol
Being any place where she can't crawl around
Being hosed down after all. the. blowouts. (still happening in the car seat a lot. Advice?!)

What's New This Month:

1. Peyton got TWO more teeth this month, making six baby teeth in total! The last one was pretty rough, as previously mentioned. I'm not sure if it was all teething related or if there were some other issues presenting themselves at the same time, but P had a pretty rough few days/nights. Which means mama and dada had a few rough days/nights as well. Luckily, whatever was ailing her has subsided for now and our great sleeper is currently back.

2. Mama is officially done pumping/nursing. This was bittersweet for me. Bitter because that bonding time in Peyton's life is now over, but sweet because...hallelujah, my body is all mine again! I can finally go for jogs without having to wear three sports bras and sleep on my stomach again. It's the little things, people! I have a decent amount of milk stored up from the past nine months, so I've been stretching that out as best as possible by mixing it half and half with ready-to-feed formula. Peyton chugs it down just like she would any other bottle, so it's been working well for us!

3. P has mastered the wave and has started to say her own little high pitched version of "hi" along with it. Also in her bag of tricks is clapping, standing on her own, squealing like a pig (my least favorite), and high fives. She can repeat mama and dada and is starting to make the "p" sound when we say her name. So basically, she's a baby genius. My personal favorite is singing, "if you're happy and you know it..." and she immediately starts clapping her hands. Ugh, she's too cute, ya'll. Too cute.

4. I swear this kiddo is going to be walking before our next month check-in. She pulls up on everything and can walk the perimeter of our coffee table now. She also LOVES to push her walking toys around our bedroom and her playroom. She walks fairly well when you're holding both her hands, but is still pretty unsteady when you let go of one hand.

5. Peyton went on her first airplane this month. We flew to Miami to visit family and she was such a champ. She sucked her bottle down during take off, fussed for a minute or two, and then slept until the wheels literally hit the ground two hours later. We leave Wednesday for Boston (YAY!!) at 10 pm (BOO!) so i'll be really curious to see how she handles the late night travels. Pray for us, ya'll.

6. P pretty much eats what we eat these days. Some of her favorites include rice, pasta, eggs, watermelon, blueberries, zucchini, cheese, and puffs. She rarely refuses to eat what we put in front of her though, which has been pretty awesome. I love watching her try new foods on a regular basis and am still just so surprised that she eats what she does and as much as she does each day!

Catch Up and a Mini House Tour!

**Disclaimer: this post is SUPER SUPER all over the place. Kind of like my brain these days. Consider yourselves warned.

Ya'll. I'm not going to lie. Blogging is just NOT on my mind these days. About 10 million things ARE on my mind, but blogging just isn't one of them. Luckily, I have been able to keep up with Peyton's monthly posts though (10 months coming soon- I can't even.) #priorities There are so many things I've been meaning to document, but time is just flying by, and when I do find the time to crack open the ancient macbook, it's usually to create something for my new classroom.

Oh, wait.... I haven't mentioned that here yet. A couple weeks ago, I was hired as a second grade teacher in Marietta City Schools. I am beyond excited to work at this school and with the second grade team. I've been in my new classroom a few times this summer so far, but have a long ways to go before I feel confident in welcoming my first students in August!

So, what else is new?

Peyton's First Flight!
Recently, my mom and I took Peyton on her first flight to Miami to visit some family. We stayed at Margaritaville on Hollywood Beach. Peyton did just about as good as I could have hoped for on her first flight. She drank her bottle during take off and passed out on my chest, sleeping soundly until the wheels literally hit the ground in Miami, startling her awake. While she may have slept well on the plane, her naps and nighttime sleep was very hit or miss during this trip. Almost every picture I took of her, she is rocking purple puffs under her eyes. Poor thing was more than ready to get back to her own crib after a few days. We loved spending time with my Grandma, Aunt Bonnie, Uncle Steve, Uncle Bruce, Aunt Elisa, Michelle, Chase, and Riley though!

On the Home Front:

We've officially been in our house for over a month now. It 100% feels like our HOME now and we're loving all the new space we have. There is still a mile-long list of things we want to change or buy for the house, but that'll all come in due time. In the meantime, our formal living room doubles as a furniture-less office for me, and there are stacks of school supplies, books, and crafts I'm organizing for my classroom on any given day. I'll finish this super random post with a couple of pictures of our new house and the progress we've made over the past month!

Right after we moved in...
After adding a bed liner to the front!

 The house as of today:

There you have it! We still have a lot we want to do, but are so thrilled that we found this house and made it ours. I get so excited thinking about watching Peyton grow up here!

Happy Friday, friends!
