Life Lately + a Cape Cod Adventure

Man, this week flew by!

Tuesday, after subbing for a 2nd grade class, I rushed home to make a twice-baked potato casserole for Life Group. Not to toot my own horn or anything, but that thing was AWESOME! I will definitely be making it again, the only problem was that it takes about an hour and a half from start to finish which is kind of a long time. The recipe can be found here.
On our way to Life Group on Tuesday night!
Twice Baked Potato casserole!
Wednesday, I was lucky enough to sub for a kindergarten classroom that was going on a field trip to the Norwell Science Center. It was such a fun experience being on a field trip with those kiddos! I can't wait to be able to do all of that stuff with my OWN class!

Wednesday night, I made Tilapia in our awesome grill pan! We seriously use this thing ALL the time and it makes the best indoor grilled chicken or fish! I used Paprika, onion powder, garlic salt, and ground mustard on the fish this time and they were really flavorful! I swear, I throw paprika on ALL our food!

The rest of the week was pretty low-key. Thursday, I subbed at the preschool in the severe disabilities special ed class and came home feeling sick so we didn't do much. Friday, I woke up with a full-on cold/sore throat that I'm still battling! We kept our plans with our friends Rachel and Chris though and went to dinner at a new-to-us place, Turner's Yard in Pembroke! The food was great (what I could taste anyways) and the company was awesome as usual!

We had big plans for Saturday that I just couldn't let this cold get in the way of! It was an absolutely gorgeous day and we decided to drive up and down the Cape and explore the different beaches and towns! We left at 7:30 in the morning and drove the hour to the bottom of the cape. We stopped to check out beaches in Hyannis, Harwich (one of my favorite places), Chatham, Wellfleet, Provincetown, Brewster, and Sandwich! It was a whirlwind of a day, but we had a blast and really got a good start on exploring the many towns on the cape!
In Harwich, a public beach entrance from the parking lot! So quaint!
Ryan's favorite beach in Wellfleet. There was awesome cliffs and dunes there!

Lunch at Mac's Seafood Market on the beach in Wellfleet!
We decided to stop and rest at a beach in the Cape Cod National Seashore after lunch. It was a warm, but windy day on the beach. Ryan was in his bathing suit and I started out in a tank top and shorts, but after laying there for a bit, the wind got the best of me and I had to put my sweatshirt back on! MAYBE next time I'll be able to put a bathing suit on!
Definitely the most clothes I've ever worn to the beach! Welcome to the Cape!

Last beach stop at Sagamore Beach, which was SUPER rocky! Definitely not laying out there!

Overall, we had a great trip and can't wait to take our families out the Cape with us this summer!!

Hope ya'll had a great weekend!
